A CELEBRATION OF ANNIVERSARIES IN MEDALS |

This exhibition was a co-celebration of two anniversaries: the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art marked its 25th in 2009, and the Medallic Art Society of Canada's 10th is in 2010. To relate to the Gardiner Museum's focus on ceramic art, the exhibition presented ceramic medals along with bronze and other media. It also gave the viewing public a window into the broader aspects of the medal making process. A total of 55 exhibition entries were received from 27 MASC members. From these, 31 entries were selected for the exhibition, with all participating members being represented. The exhibition was on view from December 1, 2009 through January 31, 2010.
